Notebooks make me weak at the knees

In my lunch hour I sometimes don’t have any errands to run, mainly because I’ve managed to remember to pack a lunch. On these days I wander through the sparkling windows of Mayfair and find myself in Waterstones on Piccadilly.

They recently refurbished their cards section at the back on the ground floor and I have to say, it’s a little slice of a dreamworld. There is every kind of notebook you can imagine and, as a writer, I have an unhealthy notebook addiction. There are a selection of books for gifts, a great selection of cards, beautiful wrapping paper, small gift options… Just everything. I know to those who don’t have odd stationary obsessions this will make absolutely no sense but for those who do, I know you’re with me. One of the best things about it is the cards because I am painfully picky about birthday cards – it takes me days to pick out a card I like and they have fantastic taste, which really speeds up the process.
